Complex 3D relief modeling from 2D bitmap or vector based artwork plus integrated CNC toolpath calculation and STL mesh creation.
Import 2D vector formats - DWG, DXF, EPS, (AI 88) and AI files Import 2D image formats - BMP, TIF, JPG, PCX, GIF Extensive tools for vector an bitmap drawing / editing.
Text entry and editing with word-processing style letter, word and paragraph formatting. Font Editor for modifying true type fonts or creating new front styles. A range of Single Stroke Engraving fronts are also Supplied.
True Shape Nesting of vector outlines to maximize material usage and minimize waste.
Relief modeling tools for the construction of complex symmetrical, asymmetrical, variable curvature or angled 3D relief. Combine 3D relief models as clipart by pasting or place relief’s on different layers for integration ****** Relief texturing with standard shapes, textures from the clipart library or with user created textures. Intergrated 3D relief shading allows the model to be rendered with multiple colors and light sources.
Relief and Vector geometry wrapping onto any underlying relief shape with Radial and Cylindrical options.

In addition to the above 3D file formats ArtCam Pro also supports import filters for all major surface, solid and standard triangle mesh file formats. These can be machined directly, pasted into ArtCam models as part of a more complicated design or combined, scaled or transformed using the Project Assembly.
Supported file types include: IGES, STEP, U3D, VDA, AutoCAD (AutoDesk):*.dxf, Catia (V4) (Dassault):.model, CATIA5 (Dassault): *CATPart, Cimatron: *.pfm, Cimatron Elite, IDEAS (SDRC), Inventor (Autodesk), Part (Delcam): *.psmodel (or directory with doc.det), Pro/Engineer: *.prt, Rhino: *3dm, SolidEdge, SolidWorks: Unigraphics: *.prt
STL triangle mesh construction with options to close the relief model with a flat plane, offset shell, inverted model, alternative relief model (must be equivalent size and resolution). With mesh export options as either Binary STL or Delcam DMT.
2 / 2.5D toolpaths calculation - including engraving, pocketing, profile, centerline, V-Carving, 3D Raised Bevel, automatic Inserts & Inlays and simple drilling routines.
3D toolpath calculation - including raster, spiral, selective vector boundary, Z level roughing and 3D Rest machining. Engraving wit automatic ‘Smart engraving’, corner sharpening and batch calculation.
Realistic 3D toolpath simulation lets you verify all toolpaths before sending them to the CNC machine.
Reflective rendering with standard + user definable reflection maps and background images.
Face Wizard, cabinet processing with the 2D machining wizard
